Johnny #5 Needs Input
This is how I feel some days...
Too often, television news covers politics in simply a "he said-he said" manner. You get one soundbite from one candidate about an issue, and another brief soundbite from the other (if he's available that day).
What specifically can the news business do better? This is not about your perceived bias; this is about substance and style. This is an effort to educate the public in a meaningful, yet entertaining way.
Bloggers are attune to what's going on in the political scene, and how it might be perceived by the general public. Without a formal debate, how can television news better present the candidates' views on issues that matter?
I'll ask the same questions for newspapers and online news journals.
I humbly ask for your input so the people of Virginia can be better educated about our political process.
Thank you in advance for your help.
The results will be consolidated and forwarded to the media outlets in Virginia.
